NEW ARRANGEMENTS FROM 20/1/11 DUE TO CONSTRUCTION WORK

Coming to School in the morning

From now on, children should come straight into school using the main door. They should then go to their classrooms where they will be supervised. This door will be open from 8.45am. Please do not come before this! (In other words we will operate the system that we do when it is inclement weather).

Collecting Children after School.

No change in arrangements for classes 1 and 4.

For classes 2 and 3 parents should come INTO SCHOOL through the main door and wait in the hall for their children. We will open the door from 3.25pm. Please do not come into school before this as their will be lessons going on in the hall up to this point. You can then leave through either of the external doors. 

Lunchtimes

Due to less space available to “play out” we will stagger lunchtimes so not all the children are out for such a long time all at once. On a weekly basis we will operate a rota system where two classes go out at 12.15pm and two classes go into lunch. Obviously then around 12.40pm there will be a swap over. I am grateful to Henry Boots who used their industrial sweeper lorry to help clear the debris from around the back of school (where staff used to park their cars) as this is now going to be an area where children can play.

Playtimes

As these are shorter than lunchtimes (and as Class One use their own play area anyway) we are hoping to keep these unchanged for now.

Obviously we are going to monitor very carefully these new arrangements and if we feel anything isn’t really working we will come up with a different solution! We will also be having a “building evacuation” practice very soon for the children as there will be some changes here too.
