Class Four

Pinhole Cameras

Over the past couple of weeks the class have been making their own ‘true’ pinhole cameras with which they have been out and experimented with taking photographs in different light and at various exposure times. The children have then taken the ‘film’ into a dark room and developed the resulting image, unfortunately not always successfully. Below you can view the children with their cameras and the results obtained.

Museum of Photography Visit

Class 4 enjoyed a fantastic day out at the Bradford Museum of Photography. Just a couple of comments from children “…this is the best trip ever…” “ I am going to get my dad to bring me again at the weekend.” The children learnt about the history of the television and how programmes are produced, being able to have ‘hands on’ to investigate and experiment. They were also able to look at the history of animation again ‘hands on’ activities. The children then viewed how cameras and photography has developed over the years paying particular attention to the pinhole camera, which we are going to be making ourselves, so watch this space in the coming weeks.

Bloodhound Project

We have been researching the `Bloodhound` project, which can be found on the internet. We have built our own `jet` (balloon) powered cars that we have tested on different surfaces discussing the various forces which affect the movement of the cars. See below pictures of some examples of our cars and testing.

Perspective

We have been looking at perspective; here are a few examples of our work.

Class 4 ICT Day

Our topic has been the Falklands, we have watched videos and learnt about the island and conflict in 1982. Part of our learning has involved ICT where we had to research, prepare and present a Power Point Presentation to the class and other classes in the school. We have successfully downloaded the presentations now, so please click the link below and enjoy. We will put further ones on as the weeks progress.
