JANUARY
January 26th was a special day for Class 2 as they became the first class to be given a tour of the site by Andy Bell (Project Manager) and Pip Horsfiel (Site Manager). Andy and Pip explained to the children about some of the dangers of the site and they showed the boys and girls what work had been done so far and explained to them where the new classroom and hall were going to be. Our other three classes will be making a similar visit over the next two weeks.

On January 24th some of the playground wall was demolished and part of our playground was dug up. This is where the "end" of our new extension will be. It will eventually be linked to our present building via a glass corridor.

January 21st saw the local press visit us for a photocall. Two of our youngest children - Alex and Emily - were allowed to visit the site along with our Nursery Nurse Mrs Marney and headteacher Mr Perrin. They were all given their very own safety gear!

Before school on January 19th the fencing was put up in the school playground. The fencing means that work can now begin on digging out the foundations for the extension near the playground wall.

On January 18th the wooden play equipment was removed from the school field. This will be re-sited once work is completed. A hard core temporary "road" has now been put down across the field to allow access for heavy machinery.

January 13th saw the wagons rolling in to begin taking the clay and subsoil away from the field. The soil itself will be retained on site for future use.

The 11th January saw a huge digger arrive to start stripping the soil from the field...and Mr Perrin, our headteacher, was given his own safety outfit!!

On the 10th January, the cabins for the workforce arrived and the fencing began to be errected around our school field!

Thursday 6th January saw the very first things taking place - signs were put up to make sure no constuction traffic goes through our beautiful village
