March

The 29th March saw the arrival of an eighty ton crane! This was used to start putting on the ceiling/floor between what will be our new Foundation Stage Classroom and our new School Hall. The stairs between the two floors were also lifted in by the crane.

By the 24th March a lot of the exterior stonework on the ground floor has already been completed.

Monday 21st March:It is now very easy to see the size and shape of our new school hall which will be on the second floor of the extension. The ceiling/floor between the 1st and 2nd storeys will be put in (in one piece!) at the beginning of next week! This promises to be a spectacular operation involving a huge crane - pictures to appear here soon!

The height of the first floor level had been reached by the 16th March. The building appears to have been growing out of the fog and mist this week! The stonework on the exterior looks brilliant!

By Tuesday 8th March scaffolding was getting higher and higher as our building began to rise!

On Wednesday 2nd March members of Heptonstall Forward and the Parish Council were given a tour of the site. The external stonework has now started.

It was also very exciting to go into the "New Class One" for the first time. The smaller rooms at the back will be the new toilets for our youngest children.
