Hello’s & Goodbye’s!

I hope you all had a very lovely Easter.

This has been a first week back of “hellos” and “goodbyes”.

We welcomed Mrs McNulty on Monday this week who will be working as a Support Assistant in Saplings Class. We hope she soon feels like part of our family.

On Wednesday we said goodbye to Miss Ruane who has been taking the Year 2 children on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for English and Maths. She has been offered a full time position at Barkisland School beginning next week and we wish her all the very best.

From next week Miss Ali will be taking the Year 2 children on a Monday to Wednesday morning. Miss Ali actually did one of her student teacher placements with us back in 2020 (just before Covid!) and it will be nice to welcome her back. I will continue to teach the Year 2 children on a Thursday and Friday morning.

Just before Easter the PFA held their Easter raffle. A brilliant £104 in profit was made! The PFA want to thank all children and their families in the generous amount that was brought in.

One of the activities that the children did on World Book Day back at the beginning of March was to put together a Wish List of the books that they would like to see in school either in our library or their classrooms. Jocasta from the PFA has very kindly put these lists (from all three classes) together on an Amazon Wishlist. The idea is to ask if any parents would like to buy a book to donate to school they can go to this list. It may also be of course that you have some of the books on the list at home that your child no longer needs – or maybe you might see one in a charity shop.

Whatever way, if you feel able to donate one of the books on the list to school then I am sure the children (and staff!) would be very grateful.

The list can be found here

I know a lot of you now pay money to school (for dinners/uniforms/trips etc) via BACS. Our bank details changed when we joined the Trust and you have already been notified about this. One or two of you have mentioned to me that when you go to pay it now says “Beech Hill School” on the name of the account holder. This is correct – it is just the way the Family of Learning Trust do it. The money still comes through to us!

Finally, we had originally planned for our next Good Work Assembly to be on Friday 26th April. Acorns are now out on a visit that day (details about that coming home today to Acorn parents) so we are going to bring the Good Work Assembly forward by a week to next Friday 19th April, 2.45pm. Apologies for any inconvenience.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
