In it to Win It!

Good Morning Everyone.

Just before Christmas we had the fun of our Reindeer Run. As you know this was a sponsored event to raise money for Overgate Hospice. This week we received a letter from them that, in part, said:

*****************************************************************************

“Your school have played a huge part in our Reindeer Run this year and thanks to the generosity of your staff, children and families, you have raised £1868 to support Overgate Hospice – wow! That’s Amazing.

Over 60 schools and nurseries joined you in taking on the Reindeer Run and together you have shown an incredible commitment to supporting local families who need the Hospice’s special care and all whilst having some fun in the process”

******************************************************************************

I will echo the “Wow”. £1868 from a school of just 50 children is an incredible total – an average of over £37 each. Thank you so much for supporting this event in such a marvelous way..

This week we have welcomed a new member of “staff” to school. This is Miss Khan. Miss Khan is a teaching Student at Leeds Beckett University and she will be spending her placement in our Acorns class until the week before we finish for Easter. I hope she enjoys her time with us – and I am sure she will learn an incredible amount from Miss Dodd.

Our Before School Club re-launched this week. We still have some spaces left. Remember, at present it only runs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7.30am – 8.45am. Each session costs £4. If you would like your child to join please drop me a Dojo message initially!

On the last day of this half term -Friday 9th February- Scout Road (who provide our school lunches) are going to do a special Chinese New Year lunch to celebrate that event which is on the following day. As with our Christmas Dinner we would like to offer this too to the children who normally have sandwiches. Again, as with the Christmas Dinner, we will presume all sandwich children WILL  be having the Chinese Lunch on this day instead unless you let Mrs Rhodes know that your child is still having sandwiches (admin@heptonstallschool.co.uk) – before the 2nd February please. If your child is usually on sandwiches then the cost of the lunch will be £2.60.

Our PFA are going to run a competition for the children to design a new Logo for their organisition. I have attached a poster all about it. The main thing they want from the children is the actual picture. They can incorporate any wording into the winning design.

The winner will be announced in our final Good Work Assembly of this term which is on March 1st. A reminder that our next Good Work Assembly is two weeks today on Friday February 2nd (2.45pm).

I hope you all have a good weekend.

With my best wishes,

David Perrin
