Christmas Is Coming!

Good Morning Everyone.

Christmas begins with a vengeance next week in school!

We have the Nativity performances on Monday and Tuesday (see my post from 6th December for more details) and then the PFA Breakfast with Santa on Wednesday morning.

This is followed on Thursday by our Choir visiting the Bowling club to sing at the Village Team Christmas Lunch.

Friday, it is our Reindeer Run. The children do not have to wear school uniform on this day and can come in something “Christmassy!” We aim to leave here at 9.30am.

The route will be as follows.

We will walk down the cobbles turning right onto Church Street. We will stop off in Weavers Square for a quick sing and photo by the tree! We will then proceed down Back Lane and Acres Lane, walking past the Bowling Club and turning up Southfield before going onto Hepton Drive, Towngate and walking back up the cobbles to school. Please come and cheer us along!

Sponsor forms and money should be returned next Friday please.

Also on Friday next week straight after school it is the PFA Raffle draw in the school hall.

The week after next, the final week of term, also has a Christmas event planned each day.

On Monday 18th Oak Class are going to Calder High School to watch their production of School of Rock.

Monday afternoon of the 18th it is the Christmas party for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

On Tuesday 19th in the afternoon it is the Christmas party for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.

On their party day children can come to school in their party wear and will need to bring their own “party packed lunch” (which they will eat immediately before their party fun begins) as they will not be having a school dinner on their party day.

On Wednesday 20th it is Christmas Dinner. We have ordered a dinner for every child. If you DO NOT wish your child to have one and want them to bring a packed lunch instead then please let Mrs Rhodes know by Friday next week by emailing

admin@heptonstallschool.co.uk

If your child is in Years 3- 6 and usually has a packed lunch but is having a Christmas Dinner please send £2.60 into school. Thank you.

On Thursday 21st December the children in Year 4 are going to Beech Hill School to watch their staff pantomime of Cinderella.

On the final day of term – Friday 22nd December – it is our Carol service at St Thomas’s Church beginning at 9.30am. All the children will be attending and all parents/grandparents etc are warmly invited to join us (and sing along too!).

So, from Monday next week every day has some kind of Christmas treat.

I can’t think of a better way to spend our last days of 2023 at Heptonstall School.
